Massage therapy may not be among the best known services offered in Guyana on a commercial basis but Anndrea believes that there is a growing demand for the service. Among Guyanese, she says, increased affluence, the prevalence of stress-related ailments, more participation in sports-related activities and a greater awareness of the importance of good health are causing more people to look to massage therapy as a means of supporting their quest for good health and physical fitness. She points out too that the increased number of visitors to Guyana, particularly tourists and business travellers, has increased the demand for a service that is commonly available and frequently used in other countries.
